Facilities

Outdoor Training Area

The University of Alabama Army ROTC has 283 contiguous acres available to use for training.  The property is located just outside of Tuscaloosa and is about a 15-minute drive from campus.  Every fall we conduct a weekend field training exercise on this piece of property.  We use this property for various activities such as land navigation, a grenade assault course, patrol base operations, basic rifle marksmanship, and a one-man rope bridge river crossing.

Bureau of Mines

We are located centrally on campus in The Bureau of Mines.  Here, ROTC students receive their classroom instruction.  There is also a Cadet Lounge and a computer lab that is available to ROTC students.  The Cadet Lounge is a good place to take a break between classes, hang out with friends, and watch TV.  Students also use the computer lab during the day to do homework, check e-mail, or just surf the web.

Student Recreation Center

The Student Recreation Center is available to all students at The University of Alabama.  This facility was recently renovated and includes a state of the art weight room and cardio center.  It also includes basketball courts, racketball courts, tennis courts, an indoor and outdoor pool, an indoor track, and a rehabilitative center.

Aquatics Center

Twice a year we conduct a Combat Water Survival Test (CWST) using The University of Alabama Aquatics Center.  The Aquatics Center is available for use to all students at the university.  It includes a weight room with cardio equipment, a 50-meter pool with a high dive, and a 25-meter pool.
