Course Objectives: to learn the molecular structure of organic compounds; the basic organic functional groups; the reactivity of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, and alkyl halides along with simple methods for the preparation of these organic functions; and the primary structure determination methods of organic chemistry (IR and NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry).
