In celebration of the 175th anniversary of the University of Alabama and the College of Arts and Sciences, undergraduate sculpture students were invited to propose ideas for limited edition commemorative bronze sculptures. Throughout the Spring semester, 2006, students were involved with all aspects of the production of the bronze pieces, from their conception to completion. In addition to the creation of the bronze commemoratives, students documented their process through photography and video, compiling their documentation to a DVD, titled In the Making: The Creation of the 175th Anniversary Bronze. The DVD was published by the College of Arts and Sciences and will accompany each bronze commemorative.
