Our History
The National Association for the Advancement of Color People (NAACP) was founded on February 12, 1909. It is the nation's oldest civil rights organization. NAACP changed America's history. Despite violence, intimidation and hostile government policies, the NAACP and its grass-roots membership preserved.

Ida Wells-Barnett, W.E.B. DuBois, Henry Moscowitz, Mary White Ovington, Oswald Garrison Villard, and William English Walling were the brave individuals led the "CALL" to renew the struggle for civil and political liberty.
