UA NAACP Signature Events

  • Halleujah Carnival
    The Hallelujah Carnival is an annual event held in October, where elementary aged students are provided a very safe and fun fulfilled night on the University of Alabama campus. Games, candy, snacks, and small prizes are distributed to the children who attend.

  • Christmas Toy Ball
    Ths Christmas Toy Ball is an annual gala held in December. It is co-sponsored by Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The Toy Ball raises toys for underprivileged children in the Tuscaloosa Community. Toys are donated to local families, the Boys and Girls Club, Martin Luther King Elementary, and the Benjamin Barnes Branch of the YMCA.

  • Martin Luther King Observance
    Various activities are held in January to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. These activities range from a breakfast celebration, marches, and roundtable discussions.

  • State of the Black Union Address
    The State of the Black Union Address is an annual event held in February. This event addresses the current state of the Black Race as well as the ways to combat the present to future issues in the leading topics.

  • Founder's Day
    The Founder's Day program is held in February to celebrate the history of NAACP.

  • Mr. and Miss NAACP
    The Mr. and Miss NAACP competition is an annual event held in February. A young man and woman will be chosen to serve NAACP in the capacity the president deems necessary. Each will implement a new program to serve the campus and surrounding communities.

  • Image Awards
    The Image Awards is ceremony that is held in the closing of each academic year. The organization will recognize outstanding work performed by the chapter as well as other University students, faculty, and administration.
