The minor in Asian studies requires 18 hours, including the following: HY 243; HY 244; two courses (6 hours) chosen from ANT 415, ARH 154, ARH 255, ARH 256, ARH 355, ARH 356, ARH 455, GY 247, HY 309, HY 310, HY 401, HY 402, HY 403, HY 404, PSC 331, and PSC 341; ASST 450; and 3 hours chosen from courses dealing with Asia, either offered at The University of Alabama or taken for credit while the student is a foreign or exchange student at a university in Asia*. A minimum of 6 hours at the 300 or 400 level must be earned on this campus. Two semesters of a single Asian language also are required. *Students who take courses at other institutions must meet all University of Alabama and College of Arts and Sciences residency requirements.
