Course Objectives: to learn the molecular structure of organic compounds; the basic organic functional groups; organic pi systems; the reactivity of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, and alkyl halides along with simple methods for the preparation of these organic functions; and molecular structure determination by IR spectroscopy.
