  • Our thoughts go out to everyone in Tuscaloosa who was impacted by the tornado on 4/27. While Shelby Hall and the rest of the UA campus was unharmed, we know that several members of the UA community were affected by this storm.
  • Congratulations to all of the Chemistry students who received awards as part of UA's Honors Week.
  • Dr. David Dixon will received the Burnum Distinguished Faculty award. The Burnam award is presented annually to a faculty member who has demonstrated superior scholarly or artistic achievements and profound dedication to the art of teaching. Dr. Dixon will receive the award and give an address on Tuesday, April 12th at 4:30 PM at the Child Development Center. The award address is open to the public. UA press release
  • Junior Chemistry majors Matthew Kelley and Jessica Duke were named recipients of the Goldwater Scholarship. UA press release

  • Dr. Robin Rogers received the ACS Award in Separations Science and Technology at the recent National ACS meeting in Anaheim.Thisis the premier award in the field of separation. Dr. Rogers is recognized for his significant contributions to the field of separations through the use of alternative solvents, such as ionic liquids and aqueous-biphasic systems, that more environmentally sustainable than traditional organic/aqeuous solvent systems.
