As we have come to understand how the Standard Model connects to the world that we observe, we also notice that the outcome would change dramatically for only modest changes in the parameters of the fundamental theory. This raised the question of whether this observation is significant scientifically. The possible existence of a multiverse, with different domains with different parameters, dramatically shifts the nature of the way we approach fundamental theories. The talk covers some of the science issues of this class of theories.
