The E-Sheet

The E-Sheet is a simple technology integration strategy that directs student research on the Internet. For a complete description and examples, visit my summer E-Sheet Workshop site (www.bama.ua.edu/~rmayben/tim/esheetsummer.htm).

ß     Integration Idea: Use sites found in the previous section for the E-Sheets.

ß     E-Sheets are not only for fill-in-the-blank questions. Add some higher level questions!

Your E-Portfolio

Do you have any questions about uploading to the server or hyperlinking?

Are there any other problems or issues with the e-portfolios? (Technology Related!)

PowerPoint Jeopardy

The afternoon session will consist of modifying a Jeopardy PowerPoint template to meet your classroom needs. The idea is that you will either be able to use the game that you create in your placement class, or that you will acquire the skills necessary to create a Jeopardy game to use in your placement class.

ß     Feel free to download and modify the Jeopardy template as often as you like.

ß     Template Download Site: www.bama.ua.edu/~rmayben/tim/tempdown.html

o   You will choose either:
Jeopardy Template (Zipped) or Jeopardy w/2 Rounds Template (Zipped)

o   After downloading the template, you will need to double click on the zipped file, and then select EXTRACT ALL on the left-hand column. This will create an unzipped (regular) folder. (You may want to delete the zipped folder after you have extracted the files.)

o   Always work with the PowerPoint files that are in the regular folder. (Not the Zipped!)

ß     All of the skills used to create the PowerPoint Jeopardy Template are explained in either my Intermediate PPT Workshop (www.bama.ua.edu/~rmayben/tim/pptintadv1106.pdf) or my Advanced PowerPoint Workshop (www.bama.ua.edu/~rmayben/tim/pptadvsummer.pdf). If you need future assistance, please use these as a reference.

ß     We will walk through the steps of placing your own questions into the template, and then you will be able to work at your own pace.

ß     This template is set up for the answers to be phrased in the form of a question.

ß     Feel free to add clipart, sounds, or movies to the slides. If you need instructions for any of these skills, please let me know.

ß     Don’t forget about custom animations and slide transitions. Please don’t go overboard with these or sounds! You know how annoying this can become!

ß     Save all of your files in the same folder! This includes sounds, pictures, clipart, movies, etc. Also, remember to take your files with you!
