"Dear Miss ---
I have read about sixteen pages of your manuscript ... I suffered exactly
the same treatment at the hands of my teachers who disliked me for my
independence and passed over me when they wanted assistants ... keep your
manuscript for your sons and daughters, in order that they may derive
consolation from it and not give a damn for what their teachers tell them or
think of them. ... There is too much education altogether"

This
is me, engrossed in a game of chess at the Ferguson center cafe. I got
lucky when a local news paper photographer shot me mulling over a stymie.
And by the way, I lost the game, and moved onto better things - like
a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (M.E.) , perhaps ? My advisor at
M.E. is Dr. K. Clark Midkiff, I have been working with natural gas
engines; trying hard to prove that they are a viable alternative to
conventional diesel engines in reducing pollutant emissions (especially
oxides of nitrogen, NOx). In the process, and with a little help
from friends (Sundar,
Satbir and
Huateng), I have managed to publish quite a
few articles to prove my point --
