PRIMARY AREAS OF RESEARCH
![]()
We employ ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) techniques such as Auger electron spectroscopy, temperature programmed desorption (TPD), and reflectance-absorbance infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS) to investigate the interaction of molecules with well-characterized surfaces.
![]()
We use dendrimer materials to prepare metal-organic nanocomposite ultrathin films with unusual physical and mechanical properties, to pattern organic and metallic structures, and as templates for metal nanoparticle formation.
![]()
We use sol-gel methods to prepare solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) electrolyte and anode materials. We also have a program to prepare nanoparticle metals at the interface of polymer electrolyte membranes (PEM).
