The Century Council (2010 - present) - In 2009, The University of Alabama's advertising team placed second in the National Student Advertising Competition with the LessThanUThink campaign, an anti-binge drinking campaign targeting college students. The team developed the campaign for The Century Council (TCC), a nonprofit organization funded by distillers that aims to educate the public about the dangers of drinking and driving, binge drinking and underage drinking. TCC believed the campaign had the potential to successfully reach students about the dangers of binge drinking, and the organization awarded The University of Alabama a $75,000 grant to pilot the campaign on UA's campus. The first phase of the campaign was implemented by The Capstone Agency Fall 2010. The agency has been awarded an additional $110,000 to implement the campaign statewide with a spring break focus. The campaign was a success, as measured by the campaigns evaluation and the local, regional and national awards it earned.

Alabama Public Library Services for The Big Read: Alabama Reads (2009 - 2010) - The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, awarded the Alabama Public Libraries a $120,000 grant to encourage residents of Alabama to read Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer between the months of January and April 2010. When the NEA grant was announced in 2008 and it was determined that the Alabama Public Libraries would engage in a statewide Big Read, they began to realize they did not have the public relations expertise and manpower needed to pull off a statewide campaign. It was at that point they contacted The University of Alabama PRSSA Capstone Agency. Nineteen Public Relations students comprised the Big Read Team and worked for nine months to research, design and implement the three-month statewide campaign. At the campaign's completion it had garnered more than $225,000 in publicity value statewide in addition to a strong online presence at www.alabamareads.org
